As a traditional sawmill we mill straight from felled Cedar, Larch, Douglas Fir, and Sweet Chestnut trees. Sourcing our timber from within the UK and milling it into a high quality product that is suitable for internal and external cladding flooring, fencing, sheds, field shelters, car ports, Yorkshire Boarding, garden architectural projects, and many more applications. The code for sustainable homes is the national standard for the sustainable design and construction of new homes. It aims to reduce carbon emissions and promote higher standards of sustainable design above the current minimum standards set out by building regulations. We Supply CODE LEVEL 6 TIMBER
In 2017 we decided to add another hardwood to our portfolio. We assessed the durability, sustainability and cost to our customers of several timber timbers over a period of about 12 months and decided that Red Grandis (Imported) would be the best timber for us to supply the needs of those customer who's requirements took them outside of our standard product range. Red Grandis is a subspecies of the Eucalyptus tree and is versatile, straight grained uniformed hardwood with Class 2 durability. It can be easily painted or stained or left to naturally "grey" to give that rustic appearance. Comparable to many other hardwoods on the market such as oak, teak, iroko as well as the softwood alternatives, cedar and larch. We source our timber from FSC certified plantation and are EUTR compliant and we aim to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum and encourage sustainable practices. For example we use our off cuts in our commercial wood burning stove to heat our workshop in winter and provide heat for our kiln drying process. Our Red Grandis is imported and we will not be offering our full product range, rather we have decided to create a new website called
